TESTIMONIALS

The inaugural Dorset Harp Colony was a wonderful experience! Under Alix’s supportive and effective coaching, I had the opportunity to learn more about myself and hone my craft. I developed an appreciation for yoga’s benefits to musicians, and I especially loved playing with and being around other harpists in a loving, non-competitive environment. The Dorset Harp Colony was a fulfilling way to spend a week that reaffirmed my love for the harp—I would absolutely recommend it for any interested harpists.

What could be better than a week of harps and yoga? Nothing, except Alix’s compassionate and insightful instruction. I had the best week at DHC and would love to come back again. I felt much calmer and more excited to play harp than ever before after my experience.

We were really proud to see how Auralie did. After her week with you all, she was a new version of herself: A flower has bloomed. She talked a lot on the road back to Quebec, so much stars in her eyes. She also took a lot of maturity in her music. We are already talking about next year and we hope she will be able to join you again.

Our daughter participated in the inaugural DHC week and we could not have been more thrilled. She made new friends and came away with more confidence in playing with others. Alix was tireless in her enthusiasm, patience and guidance. Her positivity and love of the instrument inspired these young women to play their very best. The culmination of the week at the recital in the little church at Dorset was nothing less than sensational. Additionally, Dorset is a tiny town full of charm and we were lucky to spend some days in this sweet town taking it all in. All in all it was a memorable experience which we highly recommend. We cannot wait for next year!

DHC was an amazing opportunity for our harp student to delve into music, mindfulness and friendship under Alix’s expert guidance and mentorship. DHC was a truly special experience.
